I decided to comment here because I’d have to log in to comment at Mountain Express. What I’m thinking about this is this: some beers are a lot more alcoholic than others. Some aren’t really supposed to be served in pint glasses at all. Similar to wine, some beer tastes better and offers a different experience when served in a different, smaller glass.
I don’t really think of a beer in terms of it’s size. I think of it as the right amount of beer for its flavor. If you want more beer for your money, then any mass produced cheap beer will do, right? If you want a beer experience, then value really isn’t a part of the equation, I don’t think.
Point, Alisa. I specify local craft beer in the article, but don’t get into high gravity beers, which are a whole nother ballgame. This is simply comparing 16 ounces of Highland Gaelic from place to place–which I probably should have explained more clearly.
